One of the longest snakes in the world, the reticulated python is a powerful constrictor found in tropical forests and wetlands.
It belongs to the Reptile group and is commonly associated with forest habitats with a carnivore diet, with a lifespan of 15–20 years in the wild; over 25 years in captivity, a size of Length 3–6 m commonly, exceptionally longer; weight 30–75 kg, a conservation status of Least Concern.
Reticulated pythons are excellent swimmers and can travel between islands across short stretches of sea.
